Skin cycling. Have you tried it? It’s a fresh new way to cycle your skincare products to see amazing results in your skin.
Treating clients’ skin, I always recommend a rotation of products. Skin cycling is now the new buzzword, and I’m so happy this skin care concept is catching on because the results are healthier younger-looking skin.
What happens if you don’t skin cycle?
The skin plateaus, and you stop seeing results. No one wants that!
Or the overuse of harsh products will ultimately damage your skin. When there is no recovery time in your skincare, the skin’s texture will become thinner and irritated, leading to many other skin disruptions. The skin should not be in a constant state of exfoliation. There need to be days of nourishing hydration built into your routine. That’s where skin cycling comes in.
If you have never cycled with skin care products before, a great place to start is with a four-day cycle. You can continually advance this regimen once you have cycled for a while and your skin is ready to take it to another level. This is also a great place to start if you have sensitive skin.
Ready to see some fantastic results in your skin? Here’s how to get started.
Skin cycling is done in the evening. That’s when your skin is going through many cellular changes and rejuvenation.
Here is what a typical cycle looks like for you.
- Day 1 – Exfoliation Night
- Day2 – Retinol Night
- Day3 – Recovery Night
- Day4 – Recovery Night
If you have been using retinol-type products for an extended period, an Advanced Cycle may look like this:
- Day 1 – Exfoliation
- Day 2 – Retinol
- Day 3 – Recover
- Day 4 – Repeat
Exfoliation Night – Not a facial scrub. I’m using a gentle Lactic-based serum with some hyaluronic mixed in. This is a leave-on product. It loosens cellular “glue” and helps the dead skin cells to turn over easier. An excellent Enzyme peel would work great, also. There are many choices for exfoliation night, so get creative!
Retinol Night – A retinol product is applied to the face. Apply to the neck area and chest area if there is no irritation. Start with a low percentage if you are new to retinol.
Recovery Nights – Nourishing serums, facial oils, and hydrating moisturizers. Your skin will be loving all this nourishment.
*On day 3, you can do a gentle exfoliation facial scrub before applying all moisture-rich products, ensuring your skin is prepped for all the great hydration that will be following.
This easy routine delivers fantastic results, but more importantly, your skin is healthy. That’s what it’s all about—glowing, hydrated, healthy skin. Start skin cycling tonight and watch how your skin changes over the weeks. You’re going to be amazed!
Until next time,
