Does your skin feel hydrated? Or are you always battling dehydration?
You’re not alone. Chronic dehydration is a major problem in skincare. It’s noticeable when the weather starts getting colder, but now it’s not unusual to have dry dehydrated skin all year long.
What’s going on??
You moisturize but your skin still doesn’t feel that hydrated for very long. Your skin acts like a sponge and drinks in all that wonderful moisture, just to leave you feeling dry in a couple of hours.
In the skincare field, it’s one of the major complaints of clients. Women all want the same thing. Beautiful hydrated glowy skin. The good news is with a few tweaks in your skincare regimen and adding some skin-loving foods, hydrated skin can be yours! Ready to get glowing?
Start Here To Hydrate
It’s true that your skin and your health are a direct reflection of what’s going on with you internally. For example, if you are eating junk food and drinking lots of soda your skin will show the results. Dull, dehydrated and with no vibrancy. That means no glow. Even make-up can’t cover poor skin health. Radiant healthy skin comes from the inside.
What can you do to take some steps to get your skin healthier and increase your hydration level? Start with the basics first.
- Water
- Green tea
It’s easy to let this one slip, but it’s the foundation for your skin and your overall health. Get that water bottle out and get those ounces in every day! Your skin will thank you and every organ in your body as well!
Green tea is proven to fight cancer, but it also is a de-ager for the skin. That’s a lot of power in a teacup! Drink a few cups every day.
You Are What You Eat
If you are eating a lot of sugar and processed food, your skin will have more wrinkles, be dehydrated and have poor color. Healthy fats can get you glowing again!
Can the food you eat boost up the hydration level of your skin? Yes!! You can change your skin on a cellular level with foods! Start with skin-loving fats!
- Avocados
- Nuts and Seeds
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Leafy Greens
- Salmon
Include some of these changes daily and your skin will change quickly!
Hydrated Skin Care
With hormones going into overdrive or depleting, the skin doesn’t know what to do! Your skin can feel like the Sahara desert, but you have a chin break out that won’t go away! Spot treat the breakout and only use products that are going to increase the moisture level of your skin everywhere else.
Give your skin some TLC with products that are nourishing, and hydrating every day.
- Precleanse with an oil-based makeup remover or balm
- Hydrating cleanser
- Toner or freshener with no alcohol
- Hyaluronic Acid serum
- Specialty serum (Optional)
- FACIAL OIL (A game-changer for your skin)
- Lipid loving. moisture drenched moisturizer!
Don’t Forget Exfoliation!
Removing those dry rough skin cells weekly will encourage healthy new cells to the surface of your skin faster! Sometimes that dull, dry look is just a lot of dead skin cells sitting on the surface of your skin. Remove them and your skin will feel softer, and ready to soak in all the moisture-loving products you put on afterward.
Don’t let the cold weather zap all the moisture out of your skin! Now you know what to do! Hydrate with skin-loving skincare products, and feed your cells internally with healthy good fats. Your skin will be hydrated, and glowing all winter long!
Until next time,
