Toner is one of those products that is often misunderstood.
We think of our younger years of wiping our face down with Witch Hazel or some other stinging product that stripped our face of any leftover residue from make-up. Wipe until that cotton pad is clean we were told.
That is not necessary anymore.
Doing a double cleansing will leave your skin really clean. That way there is no need for a harsh toner to over strip and dry out your skin.
The word toner is kind of outdated. You will see words like “freshener, balancer, mist, etc. all to describe a toning product.
Toners have come a long way since we were teenagers! They do so much more now and really do make a big difference in your skin care regimen.
It’s usually a skipped step because “what is it really doing” is the question that’s always asked with using a toner. Once you get in the habit of using one, and you see noticeable results, you will wonder why it took you so long to use one!
Let’s talk about why a toner needs to be included in your skin care and see how it can be so beneficial for your skin. You will be surprised at all the results you can get from a quick few spritzes !
What does a toner do for your skin?
- Prepares your skin for the next step in your skin care
- Infuses vitamins and nutrients
- Firming, correcting and brightening
- Balancing all areas of your facial skin
- Hydration, Hydration!
- Helping additional products to be absorbed deeper into the skin
- Sets make-up
- Refreshes your skin on a hot day
How to use?
- I like sprays, so spritz on the skin. Usually, 2-3 sprays is all you need on the skin.
- I like to spray into my hand and then apply directly onto my skin. That way I’m not getting it all into my hair!
Don’t skip this easy, simple step that is so effective for your skin. If you have never tried a toner give it a try. It might be the missing piece in your skin care regimen.
Let me know in the comments if you start to use a toner. I would love to hear your results!
Until next time,
