Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
The holiday season officially begins! Before things kick into high gear let’s take a moment to breathe and enjoy this special time of year.
I love Thanksgiving because of family time and foods you eat only once a year, but most of all it’s about remembering all that we are thankful for.
It’s a time to stop and pause and help our heart and mind to remember.
We have almost a full year to look back on to reflect on all the ups and downs and times in between where we can find thanksgiving.
We remember those in our lives that stood by us, encouraged us, and loved us unconditionally. All the ways they showed up just when we needed them, and we are thankful.
We remember those who aren’t with us and now make heaven their home. We are thankful for the time we had them and what a gift they were to us.
There are those we wish we could be together with but can’t be because of distance. We are thankful because we know we are connected together at the heart.
Let our hearts remember and overflow with thanksgiving.
We can be thankful for the difficult times if there was growth, we became wiser or we were stretched into trying something new. If we never had those times, we wouldn’t know just how strong we really are.
Most of all it’s a time for being thankful for how good God is in our lives. Remembering all the times this past year when you felt His presence and His peace. For answered prayers and for hope to keep going while you wait through your unanswered prayers.
Wouldn’t it be great if we lived a life having a “Thanksgiving heart?” Stopping often and offering up a heart full of gratitude to God for all that He’s done and all that He will do?
To tell those closest to us that we are thankful for them, not just at Thanksgiving, but more often throughout the year.
This Thanksgiving remember….the big things and the little things and carry that feeling of thankfulness throughout the holiday season.
As for me, I am so thankful for each of you, who come to this little refuge corner and give of your time to read these posts. Time is precious and I thank you for the gift of sharing your time with me.
Happy Thanksgiving and may your heart be full with thankful memories this season.
Until next time
