Spring is just a few days away!!
I can finally say that winter will be officially over! Yep, this calls for a happy dance!
Spring makes you feel hopeful again with possibilities. Maybe it’s the warmer weather, more sunshine or color starting to pop up everywhere.
Everything just feels more fresh and new and it makes me want to be a part of it.
What does spring look like for you? Are you making plans? Cleaning out and getting rid of some clutter?
Have you thought about putting some goals in place, so by the time summer comes, you’re in a good place? You have about four months to cross some things off of a list and accomplish some wonderful changes. You will be able to look back and remember that this was a great spring for you. How will you grow this season?
Let’s talk about some things you can start this spring to get you on track.
Here are some ideas to think about.
First, let’s talk about your living space. Are you feeling anxious or a little overwhelmed with too much stuff? Spring always makes me want to purge. Maybe it’s because spring feels lighter. Having a living space that feels light can reduce a lot of stress in your life. When you walk into your home you want it to bring a sense of peace. Getting rid of excess is the first place to start.
This seems to be the year that de-cluttering is really being highlighted for a more joyful life. There is a lot of truth to this! Create a refuge space in your home or personal area and you will feel lighter in your spirit and calmer also.
Maybe it’s your closet or drawers etc. Pick an area that you want to see some change that you can feel good about every time you see it. Start small or go big, but start. Donate, give away or throw away. I like to donate, and always have a box going for items. Look at it as “This could bless someone”. It changes the perspective and helps you to easily let go of extra stuff that you can live without. Imagine someone finding your treasure and the joy it can bring them!
When you’ve accomplished an area, diffuse some essential oil or light a candle and enjoy the new space that you changed!
What about you personally?
Are your January goals or hopes waning down? Are you getting off track? Time to give yourself a pep talk. It’s absolutely ok to start over. No failure here. Just start fresh with spring again. As everything is growing and changing you can also!
Start today to be a little more active and get your body moving. Be mindful with making better food choices. Less sugar, and processed foods. More water, and less coffee and soda. Meal plan more and take control of your meals again. These steps all add up to new changes in you. One thing at a time. If you exercised only once this week or made one healthy meal, that’s awesome! You started and that leads to more changes down the road!
Maybe go deeper and change some attitudes. Less comparing, complaining, making excuses etc. Guard your thoughts and words and practice more patience and kindness.
Do you need to pray more? To carve out some sacred space for you and God to meet? This will create a deep soul change. Think about how you can work this into your day. It doesn’t have to be long, just intentional.
Hope this gives you a little push to see spring as a time of change and growth. Not only outside, but inside of you as well.
Don’t be the same person you were this past winter. Start again this season in some area and make this your best spring ever!
