We can put a lot into the little word of hope. From hoping the weather is good, to hoping a situation changes, etc. etc. Big and little hopes are limitless in our lives.
Living in a world now that has changed dramatically, it seems like hope has taken a beating. Some days the news makes it feel like things are only going to get worse, and with that, the light of hope starts to dim.
It’s time we resurrect hope in our lives to give our hearts and minds something to cling to that is bigger than what we see and hear daily.
Hope can be what gets you out of the bed in the morning, putting one foot in front of the other. Hope can lift your heart from a place of despair to persevering because renewal is taking place.
If you are feeling hopeless, and fear and anxiety have taken the place of hope, then it’s time for a resurrection to take place in your spirit.
Your soul needs this more than ever right now. Ready to have some light break through the darkness? I know I am!
Make this one change, and let hope rise up. Have boundaries on your phone.
There are a lot of days I hate my phone, and the hope stealer it can be. I have gotten sucked into the news and opinions and all the ugly in between and my soul has paid the price.
Looking at my phone too much, made peace and hope start to dwindle and fear stress and anxiety raised their powerful heads and began to take over and dictate how I feel.
If you can relate then you know it doesn’t stop there. Physical symptoms start showing up pretty quickly from increased stress in the body.
How are you sleeping? Your heart rate? Are you more on edge every day?
I was experiencing this and had to take a long hard look at what I was doing that got me there. The phone was a huge part of it. Once I realized that I had to set some strong boundaries in place so hope could find its way back into my soul.
Time to change your phone habits
Do this one thing and it will make a big difference in resurrecting hope daily and for the future. When you put a pause on the constant stream of negativity and replace it with timeless truth, there’s going to be a change taking place in your heart and mind.
Have a conversation with God instead and let Him start to heal those areas where hope used to be. Be honest and just lay it all out before Him. The fears and anxiety, the “what ifs.” I promise you, you will feel like a weight has been lifted off of you afterward.
Those same old fears will keep coming back though if you go back to your old patterns with your phone. Limit yourself to checking news maybe just a couple of times a day, or once a day. Better yet, every other day! In the meantime find a couple of scripture verses on what you’re feeling, and let God do the talking to your heart and mind instead of the world.
I don’t think we realize how much we let into our souls every day with the world talking at us. This year has brought so much heartache into our lives from what we see people going through and even experiencing personally. None of it seems fair or just, and it’s hard to find hope in the midst of such pain in the world and our circumstances.
Don’t give up
These are hard times we’re in, and some harder days may still be ahead of us, but let’s resolve in putting our hope in the one who promises to never leave or forsake, to cover with His protection, and to give hope for a future.
Let hope be resurrected again in your heart from the one who put it there from the very beginning. Less phone, and more of God’s truth every day. Hope will find you once again.
Hebrews 6:19 “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”
Rising in hope,
