We are about to journey through who you are in body and soul.
Our tendency is to favor one of these areas, which ultimately leaves us unbalanced and unfulfilled in the other area.
You may eat well, exercise, take your vitamins, and all the while be completely depleted in your spirit.
Or you may exhaust yourself doing good things, reading your Bible, serving others, going to church, but physically your running on empty. Pushing through, barely holding it together because the physical side of your body doesn’t seem as important.
On the outside, you look like you have it all together, but on the inside…..no joy and no change.
We are going to work our way down from your head to your feet and see how physically and spiritually you are connected. Taking the time to nourish yourself physically and spiritually will result in a life that has energy, vibrancy, and purpose. I need this reminder for myself daily. Let’s make good choices, be more mindful, be more disciplined, and live out our callings.
Let’s keep it simple and get started. The first important change to make is; drink more water.
Body Connection
Water -Its Life
So crucial, but so neglected. Water is necessary for every cell in the body, and for life itself. When you get dehydrated, you can experience a lot of physical symptoms such as low energy, brain fog, light headiness, and overall just not feeling your best. Drinking coffee? For every cup of coffee you drink, you need to replace it with 4 cups of water. Yes, 4 cups! Its no wonder most people are dehydrated!
Clients always asked me how much water should they drink. What is the magic number? A good rule to go by is, whatever your body weight is, divide that in half, and that’s how many ounces you need a day. You will need more if you work up a sweat. It sounds like a lot, but drinking water throughout the day will help you reach your quota. I keep a 32oz container with me, and I keep track from there. It helps me to have a visual goal. Ready to feel better? Let’s start drinking more water!
Goal :
- Get yourself a container for your water and keep track of your ounces
- All days are not good water days. It’s ok, start again tomorrow. You will get better at it!
- Lemon, lime, or cucumber adds a nice light flavor which can help you drink more
Result:
- Overall feeling better
- Increased energy, clearer thinking
- More glow! Hydrated skin is beautiful skin!
Now that we see how important water is to our physical bodies, let’s see how that is connected with our soul.
Until next time
