Hi everyone, its time to share what I’m loving again!
From books to food, there is something for everyone! I’ve been doing a lot of reading so let’s start there!
Books I’m Loving
Americas First Daughter by Stephanie Dray & Laura Kamoie. If you’re a history lover, you will love this book! This is a novel about Thomas Jefferson’s daughter Patsy, who in her own right shaped an American legacy. She was her father’s helper, protector, and secret keeper. This book has so many layers of excitement, heartbreak, power, and tangled romance, that it was hard to put it down!
Educated by Tara Westover. This is a memoir and it is an incredible story. Tara is a young girl living in the mountains of Idaho whose parents think education isn’t necessary and the government is out to get them. She finds her way out of the emotional bondage of her parents and a scary brother to wind up getting a Ph.D. from Harvard. It’s an amazing story of sheer determination and an inner awakening of who she was, and who she is now. A must-read!
Me and Mrs. Kennedy by Clint Hill. If you love presidential history, this book is for you. It’s told by the Secret Service agent and his close relationship with First Lady Jackie Kennedy. The timeframe is during the years leading up to and following the assignation of her husband John F. Kennedy. This book lets you see what a strong fascinating woman Jackie Kennedy was, and all she dealt with and why she was such a loved First Lady.
How Not To Die by Michael Greger M.D. This is how not to die from all the common diseases that steal people’s lives and takes away their quality of life. Learn what foods prevent and reverse disease. It’s a thick book, but if you have certain health issues your struggling with, or have a family history of certain diseases, you should read this book. Start with what is relevant to you and take control of your health. It’s backed by science and has so much information that you can start doing today to live a healthier life. The author has a great website that has tons of articles and videos all for free also. NutrionfFacts.org
Breakfast and Spice That I’m Loving
Coaches Oats. Once you have these perfect oats, you will be hooked! They have a steel-cut oat texture but so much better! The best part? They cook for only 5 minutes! I hear that Costco has them, and Amazon does as well. They come in organic and that’s what I have been ordering from amazon. It comes in a big bag, and you will be surprised at how fast you go through it. Every time I have them I say the same thing, “Wow these are so good”! Put some walnuts and blueberries on top of these oats, and you have a powerhouse in a bowl!
Simply Organic Pepper and More Spice. This is such a wonderful spice that can turn plain eggs into a flavor bomb! You can use it on salads, veggies and more. Get creative and give this spice a try! I always buy 2 jars at a time, so we never run out!
Skincare
100% Pure Blood Orange Cleansing Balm. Sometimes I just want to cleanse my face quickly at night and go to bed! This does it for me. All my make-up is removed quickly and my skin is left soft and hydrated. I just scoop a little out, massage all over and remove with a warm cloth. It’s gentle enough for the eye area also. Put a small amount on a damp cotton pad to remove all eye makeup. Oh, let’s not forget that it smells yummy and the ingredients are safe and clean! A win all around!
Derma E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil. When I saw this at TJ Maxx I had to try it, and now I’m loving it! Derma E is known for its clean ingredients and result-oriented products. This did not disappoint!! Like I said with the above product, sometimes cleansing has to be quick! Being an esthetician, I like choices! This does a thorough job and leaves my skin so soft and hydrated. This is also organic and I just love everything about it!
Health
Happy Light by Verilux. This is a light I use when the winter is long and the days are gray. It works and I’m loving the benefits I’m getting from it!
The science backs up that sitting in front of a light that emits light that is like the sun can change your mood. This light does that for me. When I feel myself feeling a little blue because of the weather, I get my face in front of my Happy Light, and I just feel better. If you experience SAD (Seasonal Disorder), really think about trying light therapy. It will get you happy again!
Pique Tea. I have mentioned this tea before, but I have to mention it again! It’s the best! I’m getting this on auto-ship because I don’t want to be without it. The green teas are my favorite, but the blacks are soooo good also! I love the hibiscus and the cinnamon fasting is great in the evening. They are super potent organic tea crystals that mix instantly with hot or cold water. The levels of active ingredients for your health are far above the typical tea you find in the store.
Drink 3 cups a day for maximum health benefits for digestion, sleep, and moods. Even with just one cup though, you will power up your health! It’s that powerful! Experience the difference with this tea!
Hope you give something new a try and find a new love!! Read a good book, have a great cup of tea, wake up to a good breakfast and get happy with some light!
Until next time,
~pat
