Hi everyone, it’s time for what I’m loving!!
I’m still spending a lot of time at home, so I’ve really had a chance to try some new things from other bloggers that I follow, or items that have been on my list for a while that I’ve been wanting to try.
I’m so excited to share this list with you because there were just so many good finds I wound up loving!
Ok, here we go! Let’s start here!
Books
When The Lights Go Out by Karen White – Loved this book! A recently divorced woman named Merilee and her 2 children moves to a little town in Georgia. Her landlord is somewhat of a town matriarch named Sugar, and these two women are as different as two people can be. As if life isn’t hard enough, an anonymous blog starts talking about her personal life for the whole town to know! Secrets from Sugars past and someone who has targeted Merilee in a dangerous friendship make this book an all-night read!!
The Dressmakers Gift by Fiona Valpy – This is such a beautiful story of friendship, courage, and the will to survive. Three seamstresses in 1940 are living in Paris that is occupied by the Germans. They each have a story and they share a remarkable friendship that is now threatened to tear them apart during this wartime.
Two generations later one of the grand-daughters seeks out to work at the same building in Paris as her grandmother did. She learns truths about herself and unravels a family history that will change her life forever. This book is an emotional roller coaster and will stick with you for a long time. One of my all-time favorite books this year.
And More Books
Across The Winding River by Aimee K. Runyon – A young woman wants to make the most of her father’s last few months of life. His only wish is for her to go through the memorabilia box he has from when he was in the war. She finds a picture of her father with a beautiful young woman, (not her mother) and it’s obvious that they love each other. Secrets, love, danger makes for a great story! Stayed up way too late reading this one!
The JaneAusten Society by Natalie Jenner – This is a charming and beautiful story and such a great reminder of how powerful words and literature are in uniting people and healing them at the same time. It was wonderful and if you love Jane Austen, you will love all the quotes and references to her books!
Skincare I’m Loving
Naturopathica Calendula Essential Hydrating Cream – This is such a deeply nourishing moisturizer with anti-inflammatory and clean ingredients that your skin will truly love. It’s especially great for sensitive skin. Borage oil helps to soften your skin to a deeper level. With the colder temperatures, I have switched to this moisturizer and my skin is loving it!
Anne Marie Restorative Cleansing Oil – This is a wonderful organic oil cleanser that can be used as your actual cleanser or as a pre-cleanse if you have make-up on. It has a wonderful light smell, and it’s super concentrated as well. Seriously, two pumps are all you need to get the job done! The company always has specials and sales going on, so you can get this at a really good price. I love this cleanser every time I use it.
Targeted Treatment
Farmacy Honeymoon Glow – This is a 3-in one-night serum that resurfaces, hydrates, and brightens dull skin. AHA/BHA and gentle flower acids truly make your skin glow again. One drop in the evening after cleansing and toning is all you need. You will actually see the difference in the morning! I had a sample of this and was so impressed with the results that I purchased the bigger bottle. It’s now part of my regular skincare routine. You will love this as a gentle, but correcting powerful serum for your skin!
Acne Treatment Serum by Breylee – Tea tree oil and Camellia Sinensis Leaf extracts makes this a powerful serum for that occasional breakout. Just a drop and a few days later all redness is gone and the blemished area is healed, with no drying and peeling skin. Just nice to have on hand when your skin wants to revert to being a teenager!
Organic Castor Oil by Kate Blanc – I am using this right now for my lashes and brows. After just a few days my lashes looked so much healthier and I swear they seemed longer! It’s a thick oil, and just a drop is all you need for both brows and lashes. I just use my finger to apply it. It’s that easy! If your brows are getting sparse and your lashes aren’t as long and lush as they used to be, give this a try! You could be loving your brows in lashes in less than 2 weeks!
Haircare That I’m Loving
Olaplex Hair products 3, 4, and 5 – I felt like my hair was looking dull and had lost a lot of shine. I have read about these products and decided to give them a try. They are all about bonding and correcting the hair. They are amazing products! #3 is the weekly deep conditioner that will transform your hair after one use. #4 and #5 are the shampoo and conditioner. You need such a tiny amount, that these products will last you a long time. If your hair is looking like it needs a reboot, try Olaplex. You will start loving your hair again after a few uses!
Moroccanoil Volumizing Mist – Bought a travel size of this just to see how I would like it, and the first time I tried it, I was like “Wow, I love this”! The smell is soooo nice, and it’s a wonderful light volumizer for fine hair that gives some nice lift and thickness. I’m definitely getting the bigger size, and will be using it daily!
Body Care
Love Beauty and Planet Body Lotion in Shea Butter & Sandlewood – I love this line of body lotions to hydrate but also to give a nice soft fragrance. In the summer I use the Coconut/Mimosa one, and I have switched to this one for the fall. It’s a little more hydrating with the shea butter, and the fragrance is warmer for the colder days outside. You can also mix it in with any other fragrance-free moisturizer you might be using to just give you a hint of the sandalwood, which is so nice. Clean ingredients make this an all-year favorite!
Raw Sugar Hand Soap in Raw Coconut and Mango – Washing my hands so much has taken a toll on them! They haven’t gotten really dry and dull. This hand soap has helped a lot. First, it smells amazing! Like a tropical summer day! With winter coming, using this hand soap might just give you a little burst of summer every time you use it!
Similasan Allergy Eye Relief Drops – Throw away all those eyes drops that take the red out! These are the best eye drops that I have found that really make my eyes feel comfortable, and take away any itch that can come from allergies. These drops are homeopathic with no ingredients that can cause more problems later on, as a lot of the over-the-counter eye drops do. My eye doctor recommended these, and said she loves them also!
Fun Things That I’m Loving
Hat Washers – I follow a blogger who was raving about this little gem, and soon as I saw it, I knew I had to try it for my hubbies hat. He was a skeptic, but after the results of the first hat, he went and grabbed every hat he owned to be cleaned! Ha! You just snap the hat in the hat-shaped holder and put it in the top rack of the dishwasher. It sounds crazy, but it comes out looking like a brand new hat! All those sweat stains are gone. So if you have some grubby hats laying around, get this hat cleaner and be shocked at how great your old hats will look!
Grocery Bag Handle Carrier – I don’t know why I didn’t get this years ago! Have you ever tried to carry a zillion grocery bags in from the car on your wrist or in your hands, only to pretty much cut off your circulation?! This baby is your answer. Just open it, slide your bags into the hook, and carry them in with these padded bag carrier handles. Oh my gosh, it’s awesome! I can carry a ton of heavy bags with one or two hooks and it feels like nothing! Such an easy thing that really has made such a big difference!
Kitchen
Garlic Expression Salad Dressing – This is my favorite salad dressing. It tastes great, has only 3 grams of sugar, and you need less than a tablespoon which would be even less sugar. It is an oil-based dressing, with whole cloves of garlic in it. I can’t always find it at the grocery stores, but when I do, I buy multiple bottles of it. Shake it well and pour this on your healthy salad greens and fall in love with this dressing!
Worth Mentioning Again That I’m Loving!
Pique Tea– I have talked about Pique tea before, and I am still loving it! It’s worth mentioning again because this tea is the best! I drink a couple of cups every day and look forward to my next cup. Organic, triple screened for toxins, these tea crystals will give you the most amazing cup of tea. The flavors are rich and intense, unlike any other tea, I have tried in the past. Recommended by top practitioners, and functional doctors, you just have to try this tea to be a believer! Everyone that I have recommended to try this tea all say the same thing. “It’s the best tea I have ever had.” Earl Gray, Mint Green, and Hibiscus are my favorites.
Breathe Easier Essential Oil by Edens Garden – I have been sleeping every night with this oil diffusing in my bedroom while I sleep, and I don’t know if I can ever sleep without it again! If I forget, my hubby reminds me to get the diffuser going! He loves it and says he sleeps better at night because of it. With allergies, colds, and drier temperatures starting, this oil is a welcome relief at night to get a good night’s sleep all the while breathing easier with the fragrance of this oil.
Passion Planner – I have already gotten my 2021 passion Planner because I am so looking forward to next year! I swear by this planner for goal setting, planning, staying organized, and dreaming. If you want to start next year off with a fresh start, this planner can help you plan your heart out!
Well, that’s a wrap! Hope this list gets you curious to try something new!
In the meantime stay safe, and find moments to nourish your soul and mind.
Until next time,
