Who Has Time For A Mask?

July 2, 2018

Making time to apply a mask has kind of lost its appeal.  No time.  What does it really do anyway? Let’s talk about it and see why making time for a mask is so essential for your skin!

Drag those jars of mask out of the bathroom and see why this is more than a feeling of indulgence in our skincare routine.

Masks have come a long way from the jars of green pepperminty ones we used as a teenager. They are now packed with powerful ingredients, that literally after one use you can see some amazing results.

Ingredients are now more active so leaving it on for just 5-10 minutes gets the job done.  If time allows you can leave it on longer!

My skin lets me know when I need to mask because it looks dull and dehydrated and has lost its glow.

There are times when I can soak in a tub with a mask on and let the steam penetrate the mask deep into my skin.  Other times I am cooking and babysitting while checking messages all at the same time with a mask on my face.  Whenever you can get it on, it works!  Get creative in finding the time to get that mask on!

You want to use the right mask for your skin type. What do you want to accomplish with it? There are masks now for every skin condition and you have a lot of choices in the type you can use.  I like to exfoliate my skin first, then apply a mask.  I want all those correcting ingredients to get deep into my skin!

Choose your masks:

  • Cream or Gel based ( drier skins, mature, dehydrated )
  • Drying ( oiler skins, combo, acne )
  • Mask sheets for all skin types
  • Peel off masks for all skin types
  • Leave on all night mask

With new ingredients being discovered in skin care,  masks are now more advanced and high-tech.  They are full of powerful anti-oxidants and contain regenerating and corrective ingredients. You can achieve great results in a short amount of time!

Don’t forget to mask the neck area as well.  Because the skin is thinner on the neck, it can age 5 to 7 years sooner than the face!  Always include the neck in ALL of your skincare routine. You will be so glad later on that you did!

How often should you apply a mask?

One to two times a week.  If you can only do once that’s fine. You will still see beautiful results!

Hope this gets you inspired to find that jar of mask in your cabinet, or try something new!  Take 5-10 minutes a couple of times a week to get back in the habit of masking and see what a difference it makes in the way your skin looks!

Until next time
