Body Connection- Strong Arms

How do you feel about your arms?

This is an area that many women feel so negative about. I have heard so many women say they never wear sleeveless or tank tops anymore because they hate how their arms look.

Then we hear the nicknames that arms have been given like, “kimona arms, batwings, drapes, spaghetti arms etc.  Yikes!!  That’s enough to give you insecurity!  Who comes up with these names anyway?!

Arms are one of the most beautiful parts of the body.  When they are toned it makes you look more youthful and fit.

The great thing about the arms is that they respond quickly to exercise.  So with a little planning, you can really change the look and shape of this area. You can tighten up and sculpt your arm muscles in a short amount of time, and it doesn’t matter what your age is!

I have seen women in their 60’s, 70’s and older who have arms that make you say WOW!  Yes, you can gain muscle despite your age.  Resistance training is also so important for preventing osteoporosis.

Ready to get some beautiful arms?

Hand-held weights are your arms best friend.  You’re stronger than you think!  If this is new for you start light. 2-3 pounds.  You will be surprised how quickly you will outgrow those!  Move up to 5 pounds and more as you become stronger. After just a couple of weeks, you will see some beautiful definition in your arms that will keep you motivated and encourage you to stick with it.  This is my favorite way to tone my arms because it gives fast results!

There are so many DVDs out there and even FREE exercise programs on tv. that you can take advantage of to get an overall workout and especially those arms.  If you’re more of a class person that’s also a fun way to get some toning in.

Weights are awesome but you can also get great results using your own body weight.  Yoga and pilates will not only make you stronger internally but it will change the way your body looks overall.

Yep, we want to wear those sleeveless tops with confidence, but you want to be strong for everyday life also.  Having strength in your arms will allow you to pick up those heavy bags, pick up that child or grandchild etc. and give you a feeling of being a strong independent woman.

No more saying no to arm revealing clothes.  You can change that starting today or this week!  Get those weights, or do some yoga and watch your arms take on a stronger more youthful appearance quickly!  Time to love your arms again!
