Glowing, hydrated skin.
We all want it, but sometimes, no matter how many products we use, our skin still looks dull.
That’s because healthy skin doesn’t come from a jar; it starts from within.
As we age, our skin becomes drier and thinner over time. Wrinkles seem to happen overnight, and hormones are making everything wacky with our skin and our bodies.
There is a way to get your glow back, and it’s easier than you think. It all starts with what we’re eating, and when you eat the right things, you get the glow that radiates from the inside out.
Let’s talk about some simple ways to target internal hydration so we can glow all year round!
Drink water. It sounds easy, but most people are dehydrated, some even severely. Our bodies are about 60% water, and our skin is the first to show signs of dehydration. Skin can get dry, flaky, and even itchy. This is usually the first sign that you need to increase your water intake.
How much water should you drink? Divide your weight by 1/2, and that’s how many ounces you need. Tea counts, too. Drink it throughout the day, and you will get it in.
Get your water in foods. Cucumbers, berries, and leafy greens are full of water and powerful nutrients. They hydrate your skin and also feed it with age-fighting antioxidants. Eat salads, drink smoothies, add veggies to your meals, and snack on fruit instead of sugary or salty snacks.
Don’t forget healthy fats. Fish, especially salmon, are great for hydrating your skin at a cellular level. Ground flaxseed and nuts, especially walnuts, are like moisturizers for your insides. Eat fish a couple of times a week, and add nuts and flaxseed to a smoothie for a quick hydrating drink.

Collagen Powder. With aging, collagen production slows down. This can make a huge difference in your skin, hair, and nails, and it is worth looking into to see some noticeable changes. Also, a big plus is that it helps your joints feel a lot better.
Supplements. If you’re not a fish eater, or even if you are, supplementing with fish oil is a great idea. There are so many health benefits, but on a cellular level, for internal hydration, it’s fantastic.
Multivitamin. To cover all your bases. A good multivitamin is essential as we age. Get an age-appropriate multivitamin because your needs change over time.
Cellular Vitamins. These are science-based supplements that de-age on a cellular level. We are constantly creating new cells, and we can optimize those with good supplements that target the health of our cells. Healthy cells are more apt to hold onto hydration as
well.
See a big change by doing this!
Less sugar. Sugar is a skin wrecker and accelerates the aging process. Skin will look dry and dehydrated from consuming too much sugar. Read labels because sugar is in everything.
Hope this motivates you to think of hydration starting from the inside out, and how just by what you eat can make a huge difference in how your skin looks. Try it for a few weeks and be amazed at how your skin glows with health and vitality!
Time to get glowing at your next meal!
Until next time,
