Summer, I love you.
It takes a long time for summer to return where I live. The winters are harsh, and spring never feels like spring because of the cold. So when it’s undeniably summer, I’m one happy girl.
I don’t want to waste a minute or a day of hot, sunny weather. As a planner, I feel that I need to have a plan to ensure that it doesn’t happen.
So here are a few things I want to accomplish this summer.
Let’s list them as Body, Mind, and Soul and make this the best summer ever!
I hope it gives you something to think about as well, and that you come up with your own list to enjoy this summer.
Body
I want to move my body a lot! Being outside walking in the sunshine is the best!
Track your steps, and fire up your metabolism. Maybe even carry a small pair of hand weights to level it up even more. Get outside, weather permitting, as much as you can. Sunshine is truly healing and is good for the body, mind, and soul. And all that vitamin D is bringing health and vitality to every part of your body.
Don’t forget to take your water with you as you walk so you can stay hydrated!
Mind
While you’re walking, carve out some time to quiet your mind and clear out the mental clutter. Summer can be busy, busy. Avoid overextending yourself and becoming mentally exhausted. How do you do that? Don’t fill up every space on your calendar. Have summer fun, but still have some peaceful rhymns factored into your weeks.
Soul
I really want to pay attention to all that God’s doing this season. To have a spirit of expectancy that God is working all around me. Because He is. I want to really be aware of God’s creation and gain a renewed sense of the beauty that I see every day.
My husband and I have been doing this on our walks, and it’s been really special. We are seeing things we never noticed before, but have always been there. Like, have the birds always been that loud? Haha
Summer can fly by if we’re not careful. Let’s be intentional with this one and make it the best it can be physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Until next time,
~Pat
